Landfill Customer Survey Brings Positive Results

As part of Larimer County's vision statement, departments strive to be customer driven. To this end, the Solid Waste Department recently surveyed its commercial customers. The results were mostly positive and are summarized below.

One hundred fifty-nine responses were received. The first three questions were designed to solicit the commercial customers' feedback about the quality of our services.

When asked about the fees charged at the Larimer County Landfill compared to other landfills, 76 percent of the respondents reported that they were satisfied or very satisfied; 16 percent said they were neutral or had no opinion; and only 8 percent said they were not very satisfied or dissatisfied.

When asked if, when issues arise, they are resolved satisfactorily, 86 percent said they agreed or strongly agreed; 14 percent were neutral or had no opinion; and only one respondent (less than 1 percent) said they strongly disagreed.

When asked if they were treated respectfully by landfill employees, 93 percent said they agreed or strongly agreed; 3 percent were neutral or had no opinion; and 4 percent said they disagreed or strongly disagreed.

Survey respondents indicated that the best way to get information about the landfill (such as closures due to wind) was via a phone message line (our 24-hour information number is 970-498-5770) rather than via the Web or radio. They also indicated that the most important factor in choosing a landfill was location. Well behind location, other factors included fees, hours of operation, and customer service.

We appreciate our customers taking the time to complete the survey. As incentive for filling it out, a random drawing was held for one free dump at the landfill. Front Range Community College won the drawing.

We welcome comments about our services throughout the year. Just call the Solid Waste Department at 970-498-5760.
