The Detention Center is accredited through the American Correctional Association (ACA) as well as the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC). These two organizations assure that the Detention Center is in compliance with nationally established guidelines for jail facilities. This reduces the financial liability to the citizens of Larimer County. The Larimer County Detention Center is considered a national model for Direct Supervision Jails as well as for Alternative Sentencing Programs. The National Institute of Corrections (under the U.S. Department of Justice) routinely brings other jail officials on tours of the facility to show them how successfully the facility operates.
