Overview

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17th, 2009. The purpose of the ARRA is:

To preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery
To assist those most impacted by the recession
To increase economic efficiency by spurring technological advances in science and health
To invest in transportation, environmental protection, and infrastructure
To stabilize State and local government budgets, in order to minimize and avoid reductions in essential services

Workforce Center	Wagner Peyser - Employment Center/Job Seeker/Employers)	$119,696	Additional Wagner Peyser funds earmarked the job center to assist individual looking for employment
Facilities / Building Inspection	Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant	$364,200	Allocated funds to be used for improvements to energy management technologies in county buildings and to be used for promoting energy conservation and green building practices in the unincorporated area
Health and Human Services	CSBG Allocation	$497,000	To be used for housing/ nutrition, employment and health. Specifics not yet finalized
Human Services	Food Stamps	$62,899	Supplemental funding for food stamps
Human Services	Child Support Funding	$250,000	Staffing for expanded support for child support programs
Human Services	Child Care Assistance	$400,679	Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) program for the current state fiscal year ending June 30, 2009. These funds will be used to support the increased costs of child care subsidies due to increased caseloads.
Human Services	Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)	TBA	Funding amount unknown at this time, however there are earmarked allocations in ARRA for this use that will be coming to the county.

Office on Aging	Nutrition Funding	$63,700	$42,686 for congregate meals to be served at various senior meal sites. $21,014 for blizzard boxes to be delivered by various home delivered meals providers.
