It's now the prime time for smallmouth bass and walleye fishing at Horsetooth. Most presentations of a variety of color are producing fish. Fly fishermen are also reporting good success with sinking fly lines. The surface water temperature is about 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Some trout are still being caught, but the number being caught has dropped off drastically from the typical early spring numbers. As a reminder, all walleye must be over 18 inches to keep them, but you can only keep one walleye over 21 inches and all smallmouth bass must be 12 inches or more.
