Moose, deer, elk, marmots, bobcats, and bears are just a few of the regular sights around the park.
There have been numerous sightings of hawks, golden eagles, wild turkeys, blue birds, and many more too numerous to list. Our resident Red-Tailed hawks can be spotted circling the sky on a daily basis. Several large bull elk, as well as, numerous mule deer are regulars in the area. The coyotes can be heard "singing" near the meadow most evenings and bobcat sightings are frequent this time of year. What wildlife sightings have you had at Hermit Park Open Space? Stop by our visitor center and let us know!
The seasons are changing. The Elk are in "The Rut". The trees have turned to a golden yellow in much of the park. Many of the aspen are starting to lose there leaves and much of the ground cover is letting us know fall is here a little early this year. The colors in Hermit Park are always gorgeous with the many stands of Aspen throughout.
There are no scheduled events for Hermit Park at this time, but there are many activities and festivals during the holiday season in the Estes area. Come up and check us out.
