Water levels fluctuate daily--no swimming or boats allowed at any time, including belly boats.
All campsites are open, and the drinking water is on. Reservations are recommended for weekend visits, as this campground tends to fill up quickly.
Geese, deer, and elk frequent the area. Several families of adolescent goslings are almost as big as their parents. Look for golden eagles in the cliffs above and bald eagles in the trees near shore. Mountain lions and black bears reside here too--keep a clean campsite for your safety and theirs!
