Volunteer at the 4th Annual Northern Colorado Birding Fair

Volunteers are needed for the 4th Annual Northern Colorado Birding Fair. Come join the fun and network with birding, open lands, and environmental education professionals during this "birdacious" event! See below for volunteer opportunities and descriptions. 2008 Birding Fair Volunteer Duty Descriptions
Outdoor Classroom Manager Responsibilities include introducing hourly speakers and giving away door prizes before each presentation. Will also provide a "stamp" to stamp kids Birding Fair Passports for viewing an entire presentation. Roamers Areas where your help may be needed are checking out binoculars before each birding hike, giving away awards and kids passports at the passport station, fill-in where needed, and be available to answer questions from the public.
Shuttle Drivers Will be driving vans provided by Larimer County. Shuttling participants between the overflow parking lot and designated drop off point at trailhead. Greeters Will welcome the public, provide fair flyer/schedule, and answer questions.
Parking Directors Will assist the Larimer County Rangers in directing the public where to park and where catch the shuttle. Binocular Use Manager Will be responsible for exchanging binoculars (for use during birding walks) for a fair participant's photo ID and completing a binocular sign-out sheet.
Passport/Award Table Manager Responsible for handing out NCBF Passports to kids under 12 and explaining to them that they need 6 or more stamps in their passport to win an award. Then, hand out the prizes when they have their passports complete. Set-up/Take-down Will assist where needed to help fair participants/sponsors set-up/take-down booths. Note: Set-up occurs the day before the event.
