Government accountability is important to citizens and making information about the business conducted by Larimer County easily accessible to citizens is important to the County.
To this end Larimer County has added a ‘Transparency’ page to the Virtual Courthouse web site at
www.larimer.org/transparency. Information included on the page is information already on the web site that has been gathered into an easy one-stop place, the Transparency site.
“It has never been easier for the citizens of Larimer County to identify for what purpose money is being spent,” says Larimer County Commissioner Tom Donnelly. We are 100% committed to wisely using the resources that have been entrusted to us. This is just one more step in our efforts to improve money management at the County. Along with priority-based budgeting, eliminating waste, and beefing up our reserves, we are now adding transparency.”
The new Larimer County Transparency page includes several sections with links to information on the Virtual Courthouse. The Financial Information section, for example, includes links to:
- Bids and Proposals, Budget, the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, Monthly Checks Issued, Stimulus Funds information and projects, the County’s Vendor List, and more.
“We also believe transparency includes letting you know all the ways you can let public officials know what you think when you "look through" government workings, so we've added that information as well,” adds Donnelly. These are some of the links provided in the Communications section:
· Annual Reports, Citizen Surveys, How to Contact Larimer County, Meeting Agendas & Minutes
Meeting Calendar, News releases, Free Information Subscription Services, and more.
The Employee Compensation section includes links to information such as:
· Employee Benefits and Wages/Salaries, Job Openings, and more.
The Property and Development section includes links to information such as:
· Capital Construction Projects, Property Foreclosure information, Maps, Property records and Property sales.
The Public safety section includes links for information such as:
· Inmates released Early, Restaurant Inspections, Sex Offenders Map, Sheriff Incident Blotter,
Transportation Report Card and Wildfire Safety.
Larimer County Commissioner Kathay Rennels complimented Commissioner Donnelly for moving the Transparency page forward and reiterated its importance for her, “The Transparency page is a wonderful example of the "one stop" concept and serving the desire that Larimer County Citizens have for ease of access to County information.” #####
