The fire west of the Bonner Peak Subdivision in Livermore has been named the Granite Ridge Fire. It is approximately 100 + acres in size and moving east. The winds are still gusty but calming down.  A light rain has started falling in the area which has slowed the progress of the fire along with a drop in temperature and a rise in humidity.

Residents in the area south of Pinion Ridge, north of Obenchain and east of Bonner Peak received an Emergency Phone Notification advising for immediate evacuation. A Red Cross shelter for the evacuees has been set up at the Livermore Community Church located at 284 County Road 74E in Livermore.

At this time, we have had no indication or requests for animal evacuation.  Firefighting crews and engines are utilizing structure protection and no structures have been lost. Residents needing to return to their home for small pets or medications can meet with law enforcement and will be escorted from the Bonner Springs Ranch Road and Hwy. 287.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be a blown transformer near Deer Valley Lane as a result of the wind. Agencies responding to the fire include Larimer County Emergency Services, Livermore Fire, Poudre Fire, Wellington Fire, Platte River Fire, Loveland Fire and Berthoud Fire. The Salvation Army will be providing cooked meals for approximately 75 firefighters and personnel on scene with their mobile kitchen.

As of 6:00 P.M. Juniper Ridge Road is now open to the public. If all goes well, Shadow Ridge Road and Obenchain Road will be open by 8:30 P.M.
