Chip Seal work continues south and east edges of Loveland

Department: Board of County Commissioners
Release Date: Jul 28, 2017

Contact Information:

Justin Hersh, Assistant Director Larimer County Road and Bridge Dept. [970] 498-5652,

The Larimer County Chip Seal road program continues July 31st along the southern and eastern edges of Loveland.

So just what is chip seal? It’s a road surface treatment, consisting of applying a layer of emulsified asphalt and then aggregate to the road’s surface. The treatment acts to preserve the asphalt, provides a moisture barrier, and acts as a wearing course. This project will also consist of sweeping, fog sealing and re-striping if needed.
Need more information? Call the Road & Bridge Project Line at [970] 498-5666 or visit the Road Event Status System --- RESS --- at
Please drive slowly through work areas to prevent materials being applied getting on vehicles or breaking windshields. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should choose alternate routes if possible.
