· The next Larimer County Open Lands Advisory Board meeting is Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Loveland Council Chambers at 500 E 3rd St., Loveland.
· The Board will hear about the Larimer County Natural Resources Junior Ranger Guide (new this year) and receive an update on the 2014 Devil's Backbone Management Plan.
· The board will take final action on a partnership request from the City of Loveland to contribute funds to their acquisition of an 86-acre parcel at 57th Street and Taft Avenue. Larimer County’s Open Lands program is considering contributing $200,000 to the $1.5 million dollar acquisition. The parcel will add to the community separator area between Fort Collins and Loveland and will contribute to regional trail connections between the two cities and within Loveland’s recreation trail corridor. The Loveland-Fort Collins community separator has been a long-time partnership endeavor between Loveland, Fort Collins and Larimer County and includes already conserved lands such as the Cathy Fromme Prairie, Coyote Ridge, Prairie Ridge and Long View Farm open space and natural area properties.
