AMENDED PRESS RELEASE - Correction to decedent's name using legal name.

Autopsies have been completed on the two male individuals who died on May 26, 2014 in the Poudre River, Ouzel picnic area, Mile Marker 110, Poudre Canyon, Bellvue, Larimer County

Christopher Brian Alania Canto, age 14 of Greeley Colorado  and Jose Antonio Terrel-Pena, age 38 of Evans, Colorado

 

James A. Wilkerson, MD, Larimer County Deputy Coroner/Medical Examiner performed the autopsy of Christopher Alania.

Manner of Death is  Accident.  Cause of Death is due to Asphyxia by drowning, Blunt force head injury.

Deceased fell into flood stage mountain river full of snowmelt.

 

Patrick C. Allen, MD, Larimer County Coroner/Chief Medical Examiner performed the autopsy of Jose Antonio Terrel.

Manner of Death is Accident.  Cause of Death is due to Drowning

Drowned in Cache la Poudre River at flood stage attempting to rescue nephew.  Body recovered and transported to hospital.

 

No other information will be released by this office.
