Additional March Guided Hikes and Programs on Larimer County's Open Spaces

  • Saturday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. “Big Birds of River Bluffs Open Space” Join Naturalist Bob at the newest Larimer County Open Space, located just west of the I-25/Windsor interchange off of CR32E, for a look at the larger-than-life birds that use this river corridor. Approximately 2-hour program/bird watching. Program is free, but registration is required. Please go to www.larimer.org/NRregistration to sign up. Hike rating: Easy. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring along some water. Please direct questions to Heather at (970) 679-4489.
 
  • Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. “Twig Out!” Join us for this special presentation from ecologist and naturalist Paul Alaback to learn how to identify trees and shrubs in the winter, when leaves and flowers are scarce at the Devil’s Backbone Open Space, located just west of Loveland off of Hwy 34. Approximately 2- hour program. Hike rating: Easy. Please wear layers and appropriate footwear and come with water and snacks for the trail. Program is free, but registration is required.
