The non-profit ‘The Lift of Northern Colorado’ is now closer to ‘up and running’ thanks to a used mini van donation from Larimer County.
At one time Larimer County operated ‘The Larimer Lift,’ a transportation service to assist the elderly living in the unincorporated areas of the County get to medical appointments. Once that service was no longer up and running, the mini van, a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander, remained as did the need for transportation by seniors. A new 501c3 non-profit developed to fill the void, The Lift of Northern Colorado. “Larimer County had the unneeded mini van that would need to be disposed of so it made sense to donated it to The Lift of Northern Colorado to assist in providing this valuable service, ” said Linda Hoffmann, Larimer County Manager (OR BCC).
The Lift of Northern Colorado also has a Community Funded project at: www.communityfunded.com where people can go to support and learn about the program. Heather Pilkington, Executive Director, The Lift of Northern Colorado can be reached at 970-402-4401 or www.foralift.org
