On Tuesday, July 17, 2012, there will be a special presentation held at River Bluffs Open Space celebrating an award of $5.1 million to Larimer County, the cities of Fort Collins and Greeley, and the towns of Windsor and Timnath to implement the Poudre River Corridor and Regional Trail Initiative.

Tuesday July 17, 2012
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
River Bluffs Open Space Trailhead
6101 E. County Road 32E
Fort Collins CO, 80528

Great Outdoors Colorado awarded the partners’ grant proposal nearly full funding in this special grant cycle. This $5.1 million will significantly enhance recreation and conservation in the lower Poudre River Corridor, and move the Poudre River Trail to within five miles of completion. Once constructed, this paved trail will provide for recreational and transportation use along its full 45-mile length between Bellvue, north of Fort Collins, and Island Grove Park in Greeley.

Project partners, elected officials and board members from Great Outdoors Colorado will be on hand to discuss the project and its importance to the communities of Larimer and Weld Counties.

This special event had originally been scheduled for June 20, but was rescheduled due to the High Park Fire.
