Larimer County Sheriff's Office
John Schulz, Public Information Officer
19 people were arrested by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs over the 4th of July weekend.
Intensive DUI enforcement was conducted for the 4th of July holiday weekend by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office and the Larimer County DUI Task Force. This enforcement included DUI checkpoints, saturation patrols, and extra patrols. 14 additional deputies were assigned to the five enforcement periods.
During last year's July 4th holiday weekend, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office arrested 18 people.
Funding for the additional manpower came from the Colorado Department of Transportation's High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement Funding, Checkpoint Colorado Funding, as well as matched funds from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
DUI enforcement is a priority at all times of the year, not just during holidays. If you plan on drinking, make alternate plans for transportation. Remember, if you drink and drive, you will be arrested.
