- Park Situation
The Kruger Rock trail has just been completed and is open for hiking only. Be sure to check out this beautiful new trail! The Homestead Meadows trail welcomes hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
Construction on the Highway 36 turn lane begins August 9 and will continue through early September. This will not affect conditions inside the park, but be prepared for slow traffic in the work zone just outside the entrance.
- Camping
Three campgrounds and 15 camper cabins are open and reservable. This spectacular area fills quickly, so don't delay--secure your summer camping early!
- Wildlife
A moose was spotted last week near the Homestead Meadows parking area. Western tanagers and broad-tailed hummingbirds have taken up summer residence. Wild iris, golden banner, columbine, and many other wildflowers are in full bloom.
