Mission & Goals

A citizen's 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for protecting and improving the relevance of public lands in our lives, in our community, and for future generations.

Goals and Objectives

  1. To Raise Funds
    1. Determine project/program needs of LCPOL for upcoming year.
    2. Based on needs, determine a reasonable and achievable goal for the upcoming year.
    3. Develop strategies for meeting financial goal.
    4. Develop a fundraising committee.
    5. Evaluate strategies and fund raising efforts after completion of each.
    6. Handle funds responsibly.
  2. Support Selected Projects
    1. From project list determine which ones the Friends want to support and would have the most success with.
    2. Rank and prioritize projects based on needs and abilities of Friends and needs of the department.
    3. Support the department as a whole selecting 50% of the projects from parks and 50% of the projects from open lands each year.
    4. Divide support for each project with a timeline and steps to complete project.
    5. Develop a project committee.
  3. Advocate Increased Community and Corporate Support
    1. Recruit new members.
    2. Brainstorm ways to become visible to the community.
    3. Secure honorary members.
    4. Contact corporations and organizations who think green and introduce who we are.
    5. Recruit and train members to solicit and work with corporate sponsors need to complete projects.
    6. Recruit and train members to work in the community to complete projects and help with programs selected by Friends for support.
    7. Develop a membership committee.
    8. Exhibit at appropriate shows and events.
