The coming of warmer weather in Larimer County also signals an increase in home improvement scams such as asphalt paving, roofing repairs, brick repair and painting. 

Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith reminds residents to be cautious when dealing with door-to-door salesman selling home improvements. 
 
Not all door-to-door sales are scams but, particularly for home improvement items, it is best to be suspicious. Some indications that things might not be as represented include:
In some schemes, the people work in teams. While the first person is discussing the repair with the homeowner, the second individual will enter the home through a side entrance to steal valuables.
If you are concerned that you may be the victim of a scam, call the Larimer County Sheriff's Office or your local police department.
