This
position will be assigned to the Long Term Care unit in a traditional
technician role including meeting with clients face to face.
This
position is responsible to provide information, coordinate benefits, and
determine initial and ongoing eligibility for applicants/recipients of multiple
public assistance programs and services with a primary focus on individuals
receiving Nursing Home and Home and Community Based Service. Provides
referrals for related resources and services to collateral departments and
agencies as appropriate. Clear and concise written and verbal communication
skills are essential for meeting with clients either face to face or over the
telephone.
This
position will be responsible to work in both the Fort Collins office and the Loveland
office.
INCOME MAINTNENANCE TECHNICIAN I
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following

Gather, assemble,
and review information submitted by applicants and recipients regarding
financial and non-financial criteria relevant to the initial and continuing
eligibility for food stamps, categorical assistance, and/or medical assistance.
·
Inform
applicants/recipients of the relevant requirements and benefits of program for
which they may have eligibility; assist applicants with completing forms;
secure documents; notify applicants of appeal rights and procedures in response
to notices generated by the computer.
·
Approve or deny
applicants based upon review of case information, in accordance with state
statutes.
·
Enter and update
case/client information to maintain computer database records.
·
Maintain assigned
caseload under direct supervision and case review.
·
Review monthly
change reports for ongoing eligibility, and re-determine eligibility as
required by applicable programs.
·
Calculate income
and resources based on program rules and regulations.
OTHER DUTIES:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of Experience,
Education, and/or Licenses/Certifications that would likely provide the
required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Experience:
·
Two years of experience
in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and
responsibilities such as extensive public contact.
·
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
preferred.
Education:
·
High School
diploma or GED required.
Licenses/Certifications:
·
Possession of, or
ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver’s license.
INCOME MAINTENANCNE TECHNICIAN II: In addition to the
duties/qualifications for Income Maintenance Technician I.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following

functions of the job at any time.

Maintain a
caseload of clients encompassing multiple public assistance programs.
·
Gather, request,
and assemble written documentation to verify information provided and obtained
through direct contact, collateral contact, phone contact, and home visits.
·
Keep clients
informed of changes ion the laws or regulations that may affect them.
·
Interpret and
evaluate computer-generated data to determine accuracy and application to
individual case processing; manually track and manage cases when computer
system will not accept information.
·
Prepare case
information required for testimony and serve as representative at county and
state evidentiary hearings or appeals; testify as necessary.
·
Respond to
inquiries, complaints, and requests for information from clients, state, and
collateral departments or agencies; provide information regarding eligibility;
research various sources for additional information; refer clients and public
to related services and programs for financial, social, educational, residence,
or other resources.
·
Determine the need
for recovery of funds or referral for fraud investigation.
·
May assist in
evaluating effectiveness of programs provided to community and clients, make
recommendations, and assist in the development of programs.
·
May coordinate
routine program activities, develop resources, and research techniques for
improving client services.
·
Provide
administrative support for assigned program including but not limited to
maintaining records, verifying accuracy of records, and compiling statistics
and figures.
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Community
resources including medical, social, educational, financial, and residential.

Scope and
application of rules and regulations related to local, state, and federal
public assistance programs.

Department and

Three years
experience in a directly related field including eighteen months of experience
equivalent to that of an Income Maintenance Technician I in Larimer County or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities.
