Adult Protective Services (APS))
Responds to reports of the mistreatment or neglect of at-risk adult who are, due to age or disability, unable to advocate for themselves.

Office on Aging
A comprehensive planning unit that advocates for the concerns of older adults.


Food, Medical & Financial Assistance Programs:

Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND)
Provides cash payment to raise an eligible person's income from other sources to $230 per month.

Food Stamps
Supplemental food assistance for low income families.

Low Income Energy Assistance (LEAP)
Provides financial assistance to help low income households with winter hopme heating costs. Services may include:

  • Paying a portion of home heating costs.
  • Furnace repair or replacement.
  • Replacing broken windows.

Medicaid
Health care benefits for minor children, parents of minor children, pregnant women, low income adults over age 65 and qualified disabled persons of any age.

Medicare Supplement
Programs that may pay for your Medicare A & B premiums and/or copays and deductibles, for age 60 and older.

OAP (Old Age Pension)
Provides assistance and health care benefits for low-income adults aged 60 or older.

Options for Long-Term Care (OLTC)
Provides assessment and on-going case management to older and disabled low-income individuals who are in need of long-term care services in their own homes or in alternative care facilities.

Located at 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins.

To apply for any of these programs,

  • Food Stamps
  • Long Term Care
  • Medicare Savings Program
  • Adult Medical Services/Medicaid
  • Adult Financial Services, including:
    • OAP (Old Age Pension)
    • AND (Aid to the Needy Disabled/Blind)
you must fill out the Colorado Department of Human Services Application for Assistance, Part 1 and Application for Assistance, Part 2 and return both applications to one of the Human Services offices listed below.

If you have a parent absent from your home and you are applying for Family Medicaid or Adult Medicaid with SSI children, you must also fill out Application for Assistance, Part 2A, Child Support Information.


A face-to-face interview is required when applying for Food Stamps, Old Age Pension (OAP) or Aid to the Needy Disabled/Blind (AND/AB).

These interviews are held in both of our offices four days a week during interview hours.
