Eligibility for the programs listed below is determined by federally-set income limits. To see if you may be eligible, or to check current benefits, visit Colorado PEAK.

The Larimer County Benefits Information Center is your best source for any detailed information needed on the programs listed below. Call (970) 498-6300 today, or contact the Benefits Information Center by email. Note that Wednesdays are set aside for processing applications and redeterminations. Benefits Information Center eligibility technicians are not available on Wednesdays.

Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND)
Cash assistance for qualifying disabled individuals under age 60.

Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
Offers financial assistance to subsidize child care costs through contracted providers, for families who meet low income guidelines.

Child Support
Locates absent parents, establishes legal paternity for children born outside marriage, establishes/enforces child support orders and monitors collection and disbursement of child support payments.

Diversion
This program provides a one time work related financial need, limited to adult family member with dependent children.

Food Assistance
Supplemental food assistance for low income families.

Low Income Energy Assistance (LEAP)
Provides financial assistance to help low income households with winter home heating costs. Services may include:

  • Paying a portion of home heating costs
  • Furnace repair or replacement
  • Replacing broken windows

Medicaid / Family Medical Assistance
Health care benefits for minor children, parents of minor children, pregnant women, low income adults over age 65 and disabled persons of any age.

Medicare Savings Programs
Programs that may pay for your Medicare A & B premiums and/or co-pays and deductibles.

Old Age Pension (OAP)
Provides assistance and health care benefits for low-income adults aged 60 or older.

Options for Long Term Care (OLTC)
Provides assessment and on-going case management to older and disabled low-income individuals who are in need of long-term care services in their own homes or in alternative care facilities.

Resource Room
Located at 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins

TANF/Colorado Works
Cash and employment assistance for qualifying low income families.

Completed applications can be dropped off or mailed to any of our offices. The business hours are different for each office, so be sure to check the hours.

A face-to-face interview is required when applying for these programs:

  • Food Assistance (FA)
  • TANF/Colorado Works
  • Old Age Pension (OAP)
  • Aid to the Needy Disabled/Blind (AND/AB)

Interview times are 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at the Fort Collins office. No interviews are conducted on Wednesdays.
