Equestrian Operation Size Formula
A formula for measuring the size of an equestrian operation and the appropriate level of review is currently being considered. You may use the form below to calculate the point values for your operation that would be compared against ranges tied to the review processes to determine the review processes to determine what level of review applies.
Note: If the number of horses on the property exceeds 2 per acre, at least Minor Special Review will be required.
Criteria
Fill in the fields for the various criteria for your property (tab to next field to automatically calculate sub-total) :
* A lesson horse is a horse that is owned by the equestrian operation and used for riding lessons and/or training.
** A trainee visit is considered to occur when an individual comes to the property for a training session such as a riding lesson or educational class that is offered for remuneration or a fee. Each time an individual comes to the equestrian operation for a training session during a week, it is considered to be a trainee visit. If the trainee boards their horse at the equestrian operation, their visits for lessons do not count in this category.
