HHS Division Projects
Compass is a website containing a variety of data about important social, economic and environmental issues in Larimer County. By providing data in categories such as crime & safety, physical health, and affordable housing, Compass attempts to show progress at a community-wide level. In addition to statistics, Compass posts reports and studies about our county, displays comparative analyses of Larimer County to Colorado and the United States, and provides links to many other sources of local and national data. Information is constantly added and updated, making Compass a continuous living report on the quality of life in Larimer County.
- 2000 - Studied and implemented the conversion of Larimer County Mental Health Center to Larimer Center for Mental Health, a private non-profit corporation.
- 2000 - Restructured the Human Resources Grant Program (HRG) to become the Health and Human Services Community Partnerships Program (HHSCPP).
- 2001 - Created Compass of Larimer County Website.
- 2002 - Sponsored the 2002 Larimer County HHS Fair.
- 2002 - Developed the 2002 Larimer County Index of Community Well-being.
- 2003 - Sponsored the Larimer County Faith-Based and Community Initiative Summits.
- 2004 - Completed research and recommendations for a local juvenile holding facility.
- 2004 - Conducted an evaluation resulting recommendations for Larimer County Community Corrections Pretrial Release Services.
- 2004 - Developed a Business Index section for the Compass website.
- 2005 - Obtained grant funding to create programs that provide diversion supervision and treatment for mentally ill offenders, and residential substance abuse treatment and aftercare for adult offenders.
- 2005 - Researched County housing issues and began plans to focus resources on this problem in 2006.
