Health & Environment

Mission: To promote a healthy community and reduce unnecessary suffering caused by preventable disease, disability, or death. This mission is accomplished by providing community health and environmental health services, communicable disease control, health education, vital records management, health data assessment, development of policies that advance the public's health, and advocacy for community-based services that provide needed health care.

Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer Applications: Word Version| Acrobat Version
The Larimer County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is an organization of medical and health professionals such as nurses, doctors EMTs, health educators and others who volunteer their time to be trained and are willing to help local communities respond to public health emergencies, and improve the health and well-being of communities. This MRC is part of a national program designed for local emergency response and preparedness. For more information go to www.medicalreservecorps.gov

Divisions

Community Health Services
The Community Health Services Division promotes the health and well-being of Larimer County residents through a variety of health care services including clinics, home visits, health screenings, immunizations and educational programs.

Environmental Health Services
The Environmental Health Division fulfills that part of the public health mission concerned with controlling environmental conditions, both natural and man-made, to protect human health and well-being. Programs include air and water quality, food safety, restaurant inspection, environmental planning, septic systems, hazardous waste, diseases carried by insects and/or animals, and emergency preparedness and response.
