Health and Environment Internships

General Health Department Internships

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment offers internships to:

  • Current students that are enrolled in local schools. We cannot accept applicants who are attending out of state schools.
  • Applicants over 18 years of age. We cannot accept applicants younger than 18.

We offer different types of internships, but we do not guarantee we have room in a specific semester. We receive many requests and have limited capacity, so we recommend students start this process early.

Please be aware these internships/clinical experiences are unpaid.

We reserve the right to terminate a student at any time if we feel the individual's performance does not meet the expectations outlined in the intern/clinical experience agreement.

If you are interested in applying for an internship/clinical experience with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment, please fill out this form. The appropriate program staff will respond to your request. This is the first step in the process and will require a face-to-face meeting or phone call as a next step. Please note submission of this form does not guarantee placement.

Clinical Experience

We have working relationships with the Schools of Nursing at the University of Northern Colorado, CU Denver and Regis University. If you are a student there and are interested in a nursing rotation, please contact your school for assistance in coordinating that effort.

We do not offer nursing rotations for students outside of those programs at this time.

If you have requests for interviews, tours or other similar needs, please submit this form and we will follow-up with you.
