Environmental Health Services

The Environmental Health Division is concerned with controlling environmental conditions, both natural and man-made, to protect human health and well-being.

As an arm of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, we accomplish our mission through science-based risk assessment, policy development, monitoring and inspections, consultation, education, and enforcement of regulations designed to protect the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the places where we live, play, and work. While protecting human health is our primary mission, we also act in concert with many other agencies, programs, and organizations whose work helps to protect and enhance environmental quality.
