Manure management

Properly managed manure is a valuable source of nutrients and organic matter for soils.  Improperly managed manure is a threat to human, animal and environmental health.  Develop a manure management plan when designing animal shelters and pastures.

Manure storage should be covered and away from water and drainages.

Manure application rates should balance with plant nutrient uptake.
