Process Towards Improvements



What's Occurred To Date
  • Technical staff from local governmental entities, as well as other interested parties, begin addressing the stormwater needs in the Boxelder Creek Watershed.

  • Master Plan Study is completed (both engineering and public process components) and adopted

  • Larimer County successfully applied for FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant that will help fund first portion of the regional project (Clark Reservoir expansion).

  • Stormwater Authority proposed and approved through Intergovernmental Agreement by Fort Collins, Wellington, and Larimer County as mechanism to manage regional projects.

  • Ongoing public outreach has included newsletters, meetings, field visits, and open houses.

What's Going On
  • Public outreach continues as funding and project details become available.

  • Execution of the approved Inter-governmental Agreement to create the Stormwater Authority.

  • Staff is gathering data, studying and reviewing funding options for proposed Larimer County Stormwater Utility fees.
What's Upcoming
  • Continued public outreach and dialogue for general Stormwater Authority, local proposed Stormwater Utility and related fees.

  • Mark your Calendars! A drop-in Open House will be held on October 1, 2, and 3 at the Larimer County Engineering Department, 200 W. Oak St, Suite 3000 (3rd Floor). Drop by anytime between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm with extended hours to 6:30 pm on October 2nd.

  • Public Hearing for Board of County Commissioner consideration of stormwater utility and fees. This is tentatively scheduled for November, 2008.

  • Begin Clark Reservoir expansion project (design and public outreach)

  • Begin preliminary engineering work on further components of the regional improvements.

Staff gathering data, studying and reviewing funding options for proposed Larimer County Stormwater Utility fees.

-October, 2008

Drop in Open House October 1, 2, and 3 for public information and input on proposed Larimer County Stormwater Utility and related fees. The open house is scheduled for 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with extended hours to 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 2nd. Location is at Larimer County Engineering, 200 West Oak Street, Suite 3000 (3rd Floor), Fort Collins.
