Using Our Voting System
In Larimer County, you have the option of voting two ways when you vote in person. You may either vote on the AccuVote TSx touchscreen, or on a paper ballot that is read by an AccuVote optical scanner. By law, all touchscreen units provide a voter-verified paper audit trail.
To vote a paper ballot, first obtain your ballot, a privacy sleeve and a felt tip marker from the election judge. Proceed to an empty voting booth and mark your ballot. After marking your ballot, re-insert it in the privacy sleeve and notify the election official. Proceed to the AccuVote optical scanner with your ballot in the privacy sleeve and insert the portion of your ballot protruding from the privacy sleeve into the ballot reader. The scanner will extract the ballot from the privacy sleeve, tabulate and count it. An election judge will be present if you have any questions or need a replacement ballot.
