Elections Media Guide

The information in this section is to assist members of the media with coverage of elections. If additional information is needed or you would like to come into the Elections Office to observe, please contact Cynthia Coleman at (970) 498-7940.

Mail-in Voting - All registered voters in Larimer County are eligible to vote a Mail-in Ballot regardless if they will or will not be in the area on Election Day. Applications are available online to download, print and return to the Elections Office at P.O. Box 1547, Fort Collins, CO 80522. The deadline for the Elections Office to receive an application is one week prior to each election. Ballots are mailed out to voters who have applied approximately one month prior to each election. Voted ballots must be received back in the Elections Office by 7:00 p.m. on the day of the Election to be counted.

Mail-in Voting Statistics - A statistical list of mail-in ballots that have been requested is available by party breakdown. Also, candidates and parties are eligible for a detail list of voters who have requested a mail-in ballot by contacting Thad Pawlikowski at (970) 498-7924.

Early Voting - One week prior to the Primary Election and two weeks prior to the General Election, the Clerk and Recorder extends his office to 5 branch offices throughout the County for Early Voting.

Election Calendar - The Secretary of State of Colorado sets important deadlines and dates for each election.

Election Tips - Voter education is very important to the Larimer County Elections Office. We strive to make sure that voters are prepared for each election and know what to expect when they cast their ballots. A list of election tips on how to make sure your vote is counted is available online and through mail as requested.

Identification - Colorado State Statute requires that all voters show valid identification when voting at an Early Voting Branch Office or a Vote Center on Election Day.

Maps - Precinct and District Maps are available for purchase through the County Store and an Interactive Precinct Map is available on the Elections website.

Press Release - Press Releases from Scott Doyle, Clerk and Recorder will be made available to view online.

Political Signs - Regulatory guidelines are set regarding the posting of political signs.

Record Request Information - Candidates and Party Chairpersons are eligible to receive records for all voters in Larimer County. Guidelines and prices have been set regarding the process for obtaining voter records.
