Subpoena Verification System

Subpoenas issued to witnesses have a 12-digit number printed on their subpoena forms. Witnesses can call (970) 498-7180 during office hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday) to confirm their appearance for trial. The Victim/Witness Division provides quality services to victims of and witnesses to crime throughout their involvement with the criminal justice process in an informative, supportive manner that enables them to be involved and provide input into the process, and which empowers them to recover from criminal events.

Our goal is to ensure victims of personal crimes such as sexual assault, domestic violence, physical assault, and sexual abuse of a child are afforded rights as outlined by the Colorado Constitution (C.R.S. 24-4.1-302.5).

The Eighth Judicial District Attorney's Office Victim/Witness Division is staffed by dedicated individuals who provide support and assistance to crime victims while their related cases are being prosecuted. Victim/Witness staff provides services including, but not limited to:

  • Criminal justice support/advocacy
    We provide support, assistance and advocacy to victims at any stage of the criminal justice process. This includes in-person contacts, telephone contacts, and written communications with victims to offer emotional support, provide empathetic listening.
  • Information/referral
    Victims are provided with referrals to appropriate agencies for services beyond the scope of what the District Attorney's Office can provide.
  • Victim compensation assistance
    Crime Victim Compensation is a fund that provides financial assistance for such crime related expenses such as medical, therapy and funeral costs. We provide victims with information about eligibility requirements and provide application assistance if needed.
