In Larimer County, the percentage of registered Democrats remained stable from 1994 to 2004. Registered Republicans decreased 36%. Conversely, the number of registered Unaffiliated voters rose almost 50%.

What these data tell us:

For Larimer County, 2004 represented the largest registration turnout over the three election years shown from the date of the primary to the date of registration deadline. Primaries take place on the second Tuesday of August, while the deadline occurs the first Monday of October. This is generally the period where most of the registrations are received by the County Clerk's office. "Registration Deadline" refers to the last two days in which residents can register to vote, therefore, registration numbers drop noticeably because of the short time-frame. The most registrations were received the week before this deadline, with the number of 2004 registrations 152% higher than the next highest year, 2000.
