What this data tells us:
In 2003, the Fort Collins Area United Way and United Way of Loveland/Berthoud/Estes Park merged. The merger was done in an effort to meet the growing needs of Larimer County communities during difficult economic times in a way that would create the most impact. United Way of Larimer County works hard to refine formulas for the equitable sharing of dollars raised through major regional employers since many people donate through their employers and do not necessarily work in the same community where they live.United Way of Larimer County has successfully increased fundraising each year, with the exception of 2007. In 2006, United Way of Larimer County received a large bequest and donations for Hurricane Katrina relief. Similar donations were not received in other years. The donations to the relief effort caused 2006 to be an anomaly.
