What these data tell us:
From 1999 to 2003, the rate of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charges filed in County Court remained fairly stable before peaking in 2004 at 14.3 per 1,000 adults. In the last few years however, the number of DUIs have been slowing decreasing. DUIs increased 16% in 2004, before decreasing 24% in 2005 and then leveled off between 9.6 per 1,000 adults and 9.4 per 1,000 adults. Traffic charges increased steadily beginning in 2001 before peaking at 52.0 per 1,000 adults in 2005. The rate of total combined charges filed in County Court followed that trend as well.Data Tables:
