What this chart shows: Average Monthly Number of CCAP Cases (Families) and Enrolled Children, Larimer County, 2003 - 2012

Data Source: Larimer County Department of Human Services (data not available online)
What the above data tell us:
Between 2003 and 2011,the average number of families receiving child care help from the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) decreased nearly 40%, before bouncing back in 2012. During this same time period, the average number of children helped decreased almost 50%.Over the last decade eligibility requirements varied between < 140% and < 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). In 2012, eligibility for the CCAP program was limited to those earning < 150% of the FPG. In order to qualify, a family of three was limited to an annual income of $28,635 or less.
As of the beginning of 2012, there was no longer a waiting list for child care assistance through Larimer County's CCAP program.
The lack of a waiting program and the reduction in the average number of families served by CCAP does not necessarily mean the need for child care has lessened for poor families in Larimer County. The above numbers are more reflective of a drop in funding for such programs.
