Because of the large number of documents the Recording Department receives it would be difficult to list them all. However, the following list details the more common or general documents received. There is no charge to search records, but recording personnel cannot search for you.
Often times, documents brought into our office have return addresses and other information written in pencil or light ink. Our current office procedure includes scanning the recorded documents. Unfortunately, more times than not, pencil and light ink markings are not picked up by the scanners. Therefore, we require any return addresses or other markings, which are desired to be viewable on the documents, be written or stamped in dark blue or preferably black ink. If any documents have any light markings, there will be no guarantee the markings will be visible on the scanned images.
We apologize for any inconvenience this request may bring;however, considerable time is spent rewriting the return addresses, therefore slowing down the recording process. This in turn means longer delays waiting for the return of the documents for you and/or your customers. Also, light seals are sometimes not picked up by the scanners. We request inkable seals are dark and raised seals are distinct. This speeds up the scanning process considerable and allows us to return the documents more expediently.
STOP! - Prevent Documents From Being Rejected
