Portable Agricultural Buildings
- May have no more than 3 enclosed sides, totally open on one long side
- Must be less than 400 square feet in floor area
- A Miscellaneous permit is required
- The structure must be portable
- Use is limited to livestock shelter/feed storage and is not to be used for any other purpose
- No utilities may be connected to the portable building
- The structure must be removed from the property if the use ceases, or shall be made permanent, per the applicable building codes
- Structural plans are not required, but a letter must be provided from the manufacturer stating structure meets the wind and snow loads of the Larimer County Building Code
- A plot plan (drawn to scale) must be submitted indicating all potential locations of the portable structure, all other structures on the property, easements and water courses
- An initial inspection will be conducted for tie downs & setbacks. A condition of the permit will be that the tie down and setback standards are met each time the structure is moved.
Any other structure that is not portable, or does not meet these guidelines, will need to submit plans and obtain a building permit.
