Objective: Landfill Gas Purchase Agreement

Situation: Larimer County landfill produces methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas.

Proposal: Enter into an agreement with Timberline Energy, LLC, who will at their sole expense design, construct, install, upgrade, expand, operate and maintain a landfill gas management system at the Larimer County landfill. Timberline Energy, LLC, will also at their sole expense permit, design, install, construct, operate, replace, expand, upgrade, and maintain the landfill gas utilization facility required for the processing and

delivery of the beneficial end use product to the buyer.

Advantages: Currently the Larimer County landfill is not required by law to collect methane at our facility. The methane collected would than be used for a beneficial use instead of being released into the air.

Disadvantages: None that we are aware of.

Requested action: Contract will come from the County Attorney's office:

To enter into Landfill Gas Purchase Agreement with Timberline Energy, LLC

Potentially Affected Interest: All residents of Larimer County

Level of Public Interest and Participations: Public interest will be high but I do not look for much public participation.
